A archival quality print from my original acrylic artwork painting. This is my interpretation of a hex sign.
- The definition by Wikipedia: Hex signs are a form of Pennsylvania Dutch folk art, related to Fraktur, found in the Fancy Dutch tradition in Pennsylvania Dutch Country. Today some non-Pennsylvania Dutch people use the signs in a talismanic nature, although others see it as purely decorative, or "Chust for nice" in the local dialect.
I chose the bird of happiness for friendship and the combination of colors and shapes for abundance. This is a lovely design and is ready for matting and framing. It is printed on high quality photo paper and mounted on acid free bristol for added strength.
The artwork is signed by me, artist, Barbara Giordano on the back with the date and title. It will ship securely in a flat, rigid shipping envelope.
